CA Student Job Description

Scarrow & Donald LLP provides an environment where learning is key. CA students learn by having direct contact with the partners and by having responsibility for all aspects of an assignment. Our structure is informal, which allows for quick and meaningful feedback on your performance and development.

Our engagements vary, and our practice is not dominated by any single client or client type. We have a wide range of client types and sizes. Our client base includes both public and private companies in manufacturing, real estate, transportation, resources, distribution, research and development, the professions, leasing, entertainment, hotels, auto repair, travel, pharmacies, and construction. Our services include auditing, accounting, tax and tax planning.

Most of our clients are Winnipeg based and little travel is required. Assignments are generally of shorter duration. Staff work in smaller teams (1 to 3 people) and generally see the whole file through to completion, including the tax section and tax returns.

Training

Scarrow & Donald LLP has an excellent UFE pass rate. Members of our firm are actively involved in facilitating and reviewing CASB modules, and provide individualized assistance to students as they progress through CASB modules and prepare for the UFE.

Variety of Clients

Scarrow & Donald LLP is registered as a “participating firm” with the Canadian Public Accountability Board, which oversees auditors of public companies and other reporting issuers in Canada. We are auditors for a number of reporting issuers including TSX and TSXV listed issuers.

Members of our firm are actively involved in the community and non-profit organizations.

CA School of Business

The firm pays your course tuition and annual student dues for the CA School of Business. Paid study days are provided for all CASB modules. All students in CASB are required to have a computer. The computer provided by Scarrow & Donald LLP exceeds CASB’s requirements.

Salary & Benefits

Scarrow & Donald LLP provides a competitive salary to CA students as well as a benefits package. We pay overtime to both permanent, summer and co-op CA students. Staff may use overtime as extra vacation time or study time.
